Celebrate Single Status

By

With Valentine’s Day past last week many couples may have split up because of bad presents or are fed up with being single each Valentine’s Day. Well instead of moping about it, why not celebrate your single status and organise a party for singles?

Whether you are happily single, recently divorced or just single and looking for some company, this is a great way for you to meet new people and have fun!party girl

Party Essentials

Your party doesn’t necessarily have to be a dating or matchmaking party, it can just be a fun party for singles so no need to restrict it.

The party doesn’t have to include matchmaking but it might be an idea to provide an opportunity for it. One way of doing it is by giving everyone a number on arrival and creating a matchmaker board where messages can be left for people they want to get in touch with.

Here are some other things to consider when planning your party:

Theme

A theme is ideal for this party to give people an idea of what to expect. It doesn’t have to be too extravagant but something like a poker/ casino night might be fun to keep everyone busy and meeting new people. Alternatively you can just make it a “Singles Only” party and let the music play out.

Music

When it comes to the music, you need to ensure that there is no soppy music and instead it is upbeat and fun! Make sure you check the playlist before the party so you know no slow sad numbers will come on; you want the night to be fun not soppy!

Extras

Don’t fancy planning a party, here are some fun things you can do with your mates.

Girls Day/ Night In

If you have a few single girls why not arrange some time together. Keep relationships and partners off the table and just enjoy being with your girls for the day:

Spa Day

Why not really treat yourself and go for a spa day? If you don’t have the money, make it a homemade spa day with foot spas, face masks, nail painting and chillaxing.

Relaxing day out

Alternatively why not go for a long walk with the girls and finish it off with a coffee or even treat yourselves to an Afternoon Tea?

Trash the Dress

Or for something more extravagant for the newly singles or the recently divorced, why not go for a Trash the Dress photo shoot?! It is a fun photo shoot when you go out in a dress (or your wedding dress) and take photos of you floating in the water or in the mud! So whether you have just called the divorce solicitors or just want something fun to do with the girls, this is for you and is very therapeutic!

Guys Day Out

If you’re a single guy and want to do something fun, here are some ideas for you and the guys.

Paintballing

Fancy something adrenaline seeking, why go paintballing with the lads?! There are many sites you can go to around the country and is great fun.

Games Night

Need to blow off some steam… get gaming! Get the guys to bring their consoles or controllers along and get the drink and snacks in!

Movie- Marathon

Finally a favourite, a movie marathon! No matter what type of group you are, there is a film set you will all want to watch whether it is LOTR, Star Wars, Lethal Weapon or Die Hard! Get the popcorn and drinks ready!

So if February 14th has got you down or encouraged you to find a new partner, why not arrange a fun party to find someone or spend the day with your mates; you need to be happy within yourself to show a potential partner you are a fun person to be around and they will flock to you! Have Fun!
